Terminal Passcodes — Transactions & Admin

How to view, update, and understand the Transactions and Admin passcodes for your WIZniche POS terminal — including how passcode syncing works.

WIZniche POS terminals have two separate passcodes that control access to menus on the physical device. Both are managed from the Passcodes tab of your terminal's profile — you can view them, update them, and understand how they sync to your physical device.

How to Access

  1. Go to Settings → Devices → Device Profiles.

  2. Click on the terminal you want to manage.

  3. Click the Passcodes tab.

How Passcode Syncing Works

Passcodes set in WIZniche POS don't update on the physical terminal instantly. Updates sync once the terminal connects to the WIZniche platform, which happens automatically approximately every 3 hours.

If you need a passcode to take effect immediately, you can force an update directly on the physical terminal:

  1. On the terminal device, open the Config menu using your current (old) passcode.

  2. Select Update.

  3. The new passcode will be applied immediately.

Transactions Passcode

The Transaction Menu PIN is a 4–6 digit passcode used to open the Transactions menu on the physical terminal:

  • On Android terminals (e.g. Castles AMS1) — opens the Transactions menu.

  • On standalone non-Android terminals (e.g. Verifone V400c Plus) — opens the special payments menu.

To view the current PIN, click the eye icon next to the masked passcode field. To update it, edit the field and save.

Admin & Settings Passcode

The Admin Menu PIN is a 4–6 digit passcode used to access the settings and admin functions on the physical terminal:

  • On Android terminals — opens the Settings menu on the device.

  • On standalone non-Android terminals — opens the Admin menu.

To view the current PIN, click the eye icon next to the masked passcode field. To update it, edit the field and save.

When You'll Need These Passcodes

  • When you first receive your terminal, you may need the Admin PIN to complete any initial on-device configuration.

  • If you ever need to access terminal-level settings directly on the device (e.g. to check connectivity or apply updates), you'll use one of these PINs.

  • If you're a business with multiple staff accessing the same terminal, sharing only the Transactions PIN (rather than the Admin PIN) limits what employees can access on the device.
