You can save a payment method on file for a customer in WIZniche POS — allowing you to charge their card quickly on future transactions without re-entering their details every time. This is particularly useful for recurring customers, subscription billing, or businesses that process repeat orders by phone.
How to Save a Payment Method
Click Customers in the left sidebar.
Open the customer profile.
Navigate to the Payment on File tab within the profile.
Click Add New Card Tab.
Enter the card details — card number, expiry, and CVC.
Acknowledge the authorization of giving the business authority to use your Card using the available check field.
Add Card — the card is stored securely against this customer's profile.
Using a Saved Card at Checkout
When a customer with a saved payment method is added to a Virtual Terminal transaction or invoice, their saved card will appear as a payment option. Select it to charge the card on file without re-entering details.
You can view your saved on file cards by:
Click Customers in the left sidebar.
Open the customer profile.
Navigate to the Payment on File tab within the profile.
Click Saved Card Tab.
Security
Saved payment methods are stored securely through WIZniche's payment processor (Adyen) using tokenization — the actual card number is never stored on WIZniche's servers. Only the masked card number (last 4 digits), card type, and expiry date are visible in the profile.
Removing a Saved Payment Method
Open the customer profile, navigate to the Payment Methods section, and click the remove option next to the card you want to delete. The card will be removed from the customer's profile immediately.
