You can add a tip to any Virtual Terminal transaction using preset percentage options or a custom amount. Tip settings are configured in Virtual Terminal Settings.
How to Add a Tip
In the Transaction Details section, click Add tip.
The Add tip modal opens, showing the current transaction total (e.g. "Add tip to $108.83 total").
Select one of the preset tip percentages or choose Custom Amount:
Each preset shows the percentage and the dollar value it represents (e.g. 10% = $10.88, 15% = $16.32, 25% = $27.21).
Custom Amount — Enter any dollar amount manually.
Click Add to apply the tip.
The tip is added as a line item and the total updates immediately.
Tip Preset Percentages
The three preset tip percentage options (default: 10%, 15%, 25%) are configured in Settings. Click on the Gear Icon and update these to suit your business.
Enabling or Disabling Tips
Tipping can be turned on or off globally from Settings. If tipping is disabled, the "Add tip" link will not appear in the Virtual Terminal.
