What Is a Transaction ID and How to Use It

What a Transaction ID is in WIZniche POS, the TX/RX/QB prefix system, and how to use it for searching and support.

Every transaction processed through WIZniche POS is assigned a unique Transaction ID — a short reference code you can use to quickly find, reference, or discuss a specific transaction.

Transaction ID Formats

Transaction IDs follow a simple prefix system so you can tell payment type and source at a glance:

  • TX-XXXX — A standard payment transaction (e.g. TX-9740).

  • RX-XXXX — A refund transaction (e.g. RX-9847).

  • QB-XXXX — A transaction that has synced in from QuickBooks (e.g. QB-1425). This appears when you have the QuickBooks integration enabled and a payment or invoice was recorded in QuickBooks and synced into WIZniche POS.

Where to Find a Transaction ID

The Transaction ID appears as the first column in the Transactions → Payments list. It's also shown at the top of the Transaction Detail panel when you open a specific transaction.

Using a Transaction ID

  • Searching — Type the Transaction ID into the Search Transactions bar to jump straight to that record.

  • Customer support — Reference the Transaction ID when discussing a specific sale with a customer or with WIZniche support — it's the fastest way to locate the exact record.

  • Reconciliation — Use the Transaction ID to cross-reference your WIZniche records against your bank statement or accounting software.
