Bundle Pricing and Discounts

How bundle pricing works in WIZniche POS — setting a bundle price independently from component items and offering bundle discounts.

Bundle pricing is entirely flexible — you set the bundle price independently from the sum of its component items. This lets you offer bundles at a discount, at a premium, or at any price that makes sense for your business.

Setting the Bundle Price

When creating or editing a bundle, the Price field is set at the bundle level. This is the total amount the customer pays for the complete package, regardless of the individual prices of the component items.

For example: three items individually priced at $20, $15, and $10 (total $45) could be bundled and sold at $35 — offering a $10 saving to the customer.

Offering a Bundle Discount

To offer a bundle at a discounted price:

  1. Calculate the sum of all component item prices.

  2. Set the bundle price lower than that sum.

  3. Optionally, add the saving amount to the bundle description (e.g. "Save $10 when you buy the complete kit") so customers can clearly see the value.

Bundle Price vs Component Prices

Changing the price of a component item does not automatically update the bundle price — the bundle price is independent and must be updated separately if you want to reflect a change.

Similarly, applying a discount at the register to a bundle adjusts the bundle price — it does not affect the individual component items.

Unit Cost for Bundles

You can also set a Unit Cost on a bundle to represent the combined cost of all its components. This is used in profit and margin reporting. You'll need to calculate and enter this manually based on the sum of your component costs.
