Setting Low Stock Alerts

How to set low stock alert thresholds on items in WIZniche POS so you're notified before running out of stock.

A Low Stock Alert notifies you when an item's stock level drops to or below a number you define — giving you time to reorder before you run out completely.

Setting a Low Stock Alert

  1. Open the item you want to set an alert for.

  2. Go to the Inventory section of the item profile.

  3. Find the Low Stock Alert field.

  4. Enter the threshold quantity — when stock reaches this number or lower, the alert will trigger.

  5. Click Save.

Choosing the Right Threshold

Set your threshold based on how long it typically takes to reorder and receive new stock. For example:

  • If reordering takes 5 days and you sell 3 units per day, a threshold of 15 gives you just enough lead time.

  • For fast-moving items, set a higher threshold. For slow-moving items, a lower one is fine.

Where Alerts Appear

When an item hits its low stock threshold, WIZniche POS flags it in the Item Library. Items at or below their alert threshold are highlighted so you can quickly identify which products need reordering.

Removing an Alert

To remove a low stock alert from an item, open the item, clear the Low Stock Alert field, and save.
