Recounting Stock Manually

How to manually recount stock in WIZniche POS to correct the system count to match your physical inventory.

A manual stock recount lets you correct your WIZniche POS stock level to match what you physically have on hand. This is the right action when your system count has drifted from reality — for example after a stocktake or following an audit.

When to Recount

  • After a physical stocktake where you've counted actual shelves

  • When you notice the system count doesn't match what you can see

  • After finding unrecorded discrepancies (theft, damage, miscounts)

How to Recount Stock

  1. Click Items in the left sidebar.

  2. Open the item you want to recount.

  3. Go to the Inventory section.

  4. Click Adjust Stock.

  5. Select Recount as the action type.

  6. Enter the actual quantity you physically have on hand — this replaces the current system count entirely (it is not added or subtracted).

  7. Add a note explaining the reason for the adjustment.

  8. Click Save.

Important: Recount Replaces, It Doesn't Add

Unlike Stock Received, a Recount sets the stock level to the exact number you enter. If you have 45 units on the shelf, enter 45 — WIZniche will update the count to 45, regardless of what it was before. The difference is recorded in the history as an adjustment.
