Stock Actions — Received, Restocked, Lost, Damaged, Transferred

A full explanation of every stock action type in WIZniche POS — Received, Restocked, Lost, Damaged, Transferred, Restock Return, Sold, and Recount.

Every time stock moves — whether through a sale, a delivery, a loss, or a manual adjustment — WIZniche POS records it as a Stock Action. Understanding each action helps you keep inventory accurate and your history meaningful.

Stock Action Types

Stock Received

Used when new stock arrives from a supplier. Adds the specified quantity to the current stock count. Should be used for deliveries, whether from a formal Purchase Order or an ad hoc delivery.

Restocked

Used when an item is returned to sellable stock — for example, an item that was set aside or held temporarily and is now being put back. Adds to the count.

Lost

Used to record stock that has gone missing without explanation — unaccounted for during a stocktake, stolen, or simply unlocatable. Reduces the count and logs the reason for the shrinkage.

Damaged

Used to record items that have been physically damaged and can no longer be sold. Reduces the count and provides a clear record for insurance, write-off, or supplier claims.

Transferred

Used when moving stock from one location to another within your business. The system records a reduction at the source location and an increase at the destination location, keeping both sites accurate.

Restock Return

Automatically triggered when a refund is processed and you choose to return the item to sellable stock. Adds the item back to inventory. See Understanding Pending Restocks After a Refund for more detail.

Sold

Automatically recorded every time an item is sold through the register, invoice, or virtual terminal. You never need to record this manually — WIZniche handles it.

Recount

A manual correction that sets the stock level to a specific number. Recorded when you perform a physical stocktake and need to align the system with reality.
