TaxJar is a third-party automated sales tax platform. Connecting it to WIZniche POS lets TaxJar automatically calculate tax based on your customers' ZIP codes and locations, sync your order data for reporting, and auto-file sales tax returns in supported states.
Setup takes about 2 minutes and only requires your TaxJar API key.
Important: Customers are solely responsible for maintaining an active TaxJar subscription and ensuring accurate tax filings. WIZniche does not manage tax subscriptions or filings on your behalf. TaxJar requires an active Professional Plan to use this integration.
How to Connect TaxJar to WIZniche POS
Step 1 — Get Your TaxJar API Key
Log in to your TaxJar account at taxjar.com.
Go to Account → API.
Copy your Live Token.
Step 2 — Connect in WIZniche POS
In WIZniche POS, go to Settings in the left sidebar.
Under the Integrations section, click TaxJar.
Toggle Enable TaxJar to ON (blue).
The TaxJar API Key field will appear.
Paste your Live Token into the field.
Click Connect TaxJar.
Once connected, new orders will begin syncing to TaxJar automatically.
What TaxJar Does Once Connected
Automated tax calculations — TaxJar calculates the correct sales tax based on your customers' ZIP codes and location, replacing manual tax rate management.
Order syncing — Order totals, taxes, and state/jurisdiction details automatically flow from WIZniche POS into TaxJar for reporting and filing purposes.
AutoFile — For states where TaxJar supports AutoFile, sales tax returns can be filed automatically on your behalf (requires TaxJar AutoFile to be enabled in your TaxJar account).
Use the Sales Tax report in WIZniche POS for visibility into what has been collected, and TaxJar for filings and remittance.
Disabling or Disconnecting TaxJar
To temporarily disable the sync without removing the connection, toggle Enable TaxJar to OFF. Your API key is retained and you can re-enable at any time.
To fully disconnect TaxJar from WIZniche POS, click the red Disconnect TaxJar button. This removes the connection entirely — you'll need to reconnect with your API key if you want to use it again.
