A payment link lets you collect payment without a card being present — you send a link, and the customer pays on their own device.
How to Send One
From the payment screen, click Payment Link.
A Checkout Preview opens, showing exactly what the customer will see. Use the mobile/desktop toggle in the top-left to preview both layouts.
Check the Surcharge toggle — if it's on, the surcharge is calculated into the total the customer is charged.
Click Share.
Sharing the Link
Clicking Share opens a share sheet with three ways to send it:
Copy Link — copies the checkout URL directly, with a Copy button.
Email — send it straight to the customer's inbox.
QR Code — generates a scannable code, handy for an in-person customer to scan and pay on their own phone.
Click Done when you're finished, or Cancel from the preview screen to back out without sending anything.
What the Customer Sees and Pays
The customer opens a checkout page showing your business's location name, the order breakdown, and their pre-filled phone number and email. The amount due reflects your Surcharge setting from the preview step — if it's on, the surcharge is added to the total before the customer pays.
Once they complete payment, it's recorded under Amount Paid with a transaction ID starting with TX, the same as any other payment method.
Payment Link as Part of a Split Payment
Like other payment methods, a payment link doesn't have to cover the whole sale — you can combine it with cash, card, check, or ACH. See Splitting a Payment Across Multiple Methods.
